What is ESVA?
Before a vehicle can be registered in the UK, DVLA need to see some form of certification to prove that it complies with European and UK regulations. If you are bringing your own personal car back to the UK or importing a left hand drive vehicle, this certification is issued once the vehicle has passed a Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) test. If you are importing a right hand drive vehicle then it will need to pass an Enhanced Single Vehicle Approval (ESVA) test.
These tests are only carried out by Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) examiners. VOSA is a Government agency, which is part of the Department for Transport (DfT).

What do SVA UK Ltd do?

In order to pass either of these tests, some degree of conversion will need to be carried out. SVA (UK) Ltd will carry out these conversions to a high, professional standard. We will apply to VOSA for the test and, once they have completed their checks and given us permission, will present the car for test on our dedicated, approved, test lane.
Once the test has been passed, the vehicle can be registered. If it is over three years old it will need an MOT test first. SVA (UK) Ltd can carry out both of these services.
From collecting from the docks, through ESVA application and testing, to MOT and registration; SVA (UK) Ltd offers the complete, no hassle package for importing your vehicle. Just arrive and pick up your registered, cleaned car, ready to drive away.
